Zombape

This whole zombie outbreak thing has been a major bummer for a lot of people as well as gorillas, chimps, monkeys, etc....... Before the out break, this guy (Frank the Chimp) for example was not only a San Francisco Zoo favorite, but he was also a devoted husband and father.  Zoo goers marveled at the innovative ways in which he would fling his poop at Zoo Keeper Gary and shower Steve the Orangutan with his hot streams of urine in the neighboring cage.  He was a gentle, sweet soul who loved nothing more than sharing a warm churro with his son Lil' Beave on a foggy SF day.  Now the poor sonofa bitch spends the better part of his day foraging for rats, parrots, babies and the like in an attempt to quench his thirst for the flesh of the living.  I'm coming for yah Frank and I'm goina' put a bullet right between your sad simian eyes.

Good Bye 2K

Last Friday was my final day at 2K Marin. I worked there for about 2 and a half years. While at 2K I got a chance to work on some cool projects like Bioshock 2 and XCOM with some very passionate people. Overall it was a very good experience. This past Monday was my 1st day at my new job as a Senior Concept Designer on a feature at Lucasfilm Animation. So far I'm loving the new gig. I'll post some more of my Bioshock 2 artwork soon and some of my XCOM art when appropriate. ;)

SUPERMAN!!!!

One of my favorite moments in cinema is during the climax of the Iron Giant when the giant utters the word "Superman" as he sacrifices himself to save the world. It's poetic, heroic, beautiful. This painting is kind of the same thing, but crappy and gross and ridiculous. On a completely different note, oh my shit I can't wait for the season finale of Breaking Bad this Sunday on AMC. What an amazing show, good lord it's so friggin' good.

Dinner's Ready!!!

I'm currently in Australia and accidentally left my "messy" sketchbook at home. I've got a "crappy drawing" sketchbook with me but it's just not the same. So I had to get some "3rd floor flavor" (sjsu reference) out of my system, hence this lil' number. It's a throwback to the kind of thing I was doing early on in college with mixed media and craziness in the darkroom. Dave McKean was once of my biggest influences during this time. Bon Appetit!
